On Wednesday..Tara’s first birthday, mom and myself  packed up the kids and headed to Maplewood Farms over on the North Shore.

If you have not been there, I highly recommend it.  It is a lovely place.  It is mellow and quiet and the animals are obviously loved and well cared for.

They have a picnic area and you can have birthday parties there too.
Tara loves them

To say Tara enjoyed herself would be an understatement.

Caitlyn will be a journalist in the future…probably for TMZ. She also took all the best photos there..

Once again I became the lovely goat herd. Goats like me…

Kerry draws a crowd

It really is a great family place though. Affordable. Safe. Friendly. And educational. They give great demos and explanations about why we have to milk dairy cows and how they produce the milk that we all love.

The farmhand made my son’s chest puff up with pride when he told him how he was impressed by Adams polite well spoken nature.

Tara oohed and aahed at every creature she met. For a teeny new one year old she packed in a LOT of walking on those short legs.

I’ve never been to Maplewood Farms but it is on my radar. I’ve heard lots of good things about it.

We love Maplewood Farm. Our first visit was V’s 2nd birthday. I was still quite prgnant with A and commiserated with a couple EXTREMELY pregnant goats there :)

We should do a tweet up at Maplewood farm!

Maplewood Farm is made of awesome. Somehow we’ve never made it there for the milking, though. I clearly need to check out the time and catch that, because it sounds cool.

We love visiting this farm too! My boy Ben loves feeding the birds and now he even has a sign to tell us about ‘feeding the birds!’. I love that it takes this city mama only 15 minutes to escape the city and be on ‘the farm’. We will be going a lot over the next few years for sure.

I totally want to go there! I wanted to wait until Theo was walking and could actually “pet” the animals ;)
